Ann Mitchell Art: Portraits that tell a story

Ann Mitchell Art: Portraits that tell a story

Hello and welcome! In case you have just clicked on this page I’m Ann Mitchell, a portrait artist from County Offaly, Ireland, and I’m thrilled to share a bit about my work, with you.

For me, art is all about telling a story and connecting with people on a real level. My work is deeply inspired by the lives and experiences of women—capturing moments of resilience, pride, strength, and sensuality. I use mixed media, blending oils, collage, pen and ink, acrylics, and gold leaf to create textured, layered portraits that draw people in and evoke strong emotions.

One of my recent pieces, "Refuge" I am currently working on, so keep tuned, shows a woman and a horse side by side. It’s a symbol of peace and connection, representing that special bond we find in nature and in relationships that bring comfort and understanding. Creating art like this allows me to channel stories of love, strength, and healing, reflecting the experiences we all go through in life.

If you’re looking for art that speaks to you on a deeper level, I think you might find something in my collection that resonates. Most of my original art is on exhibition in Urban Oasis Tullamore.  My work has found homes worldwide, from France to Australia, and with each piece, I hope to connect with others who see a bit of their own story in my art.

If you’re curious, please take a moment to explore my art! Each piece is created to bring warmth, beauty, and meaning into the spaces they enter. Whether you’re interested in a print, an original, or just want to follow my journey, I’d love to connect with you. Follow me on Instagram or reach out anytime—I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Thank you for joining me on this journey!
